Family Service Policy

Family Service Credit (FSC) Requirement

The Texas Christian Homeschool Prom is only possible because of the amazing talent, cooperation, and support of parents and families of Home-schooled and University Model-schooled students and their guests.

  • Each Student Ticket and each Companion Voucher requires ONE Family Service Credit (FSC). Students whose families do not have a completed assignment or concurrent assignment will not be allowed to enter prom.
  • Service Credit options open for your family account after you have purchased a Student Ticket or Redeemed a Companion Voucher.

Family Service Credit (FSC) Fulfillment Options

STUDENT TICKETS

        • The eligible student’s family serves their own FSC for each purchased ticket.

COMPANION VOUCHERS

        • A parent/family member of the Companion Voucher’s recipient can serve for the Companion’s FSC.
        • The eligible (purchasing) student’s parent/family member (including the eligible student) can serve for the Companion Voucher’s FSC.

IN LIEU OF SERVICE CONTRIBUTION

        • Any family with a student attending prom can fulfill their FSC by choosing to make a Contribution in Lieu of serving.

How to Choose a Task

TxCHP is a family organization, and we enjoy getting to know other families and serving alongside each other every year, as we work together to create an amazing prom experience for our students and their guests.

There are several types of tasks, from which to choose:

    • Open Tasks – Select your own Task (from the Sign Up and Show Up section). After you purchase a Student Ticket or redeem a Companion Voucher, go to your Family Dashboard and select “View Adult Participation.” At the bottom of the next page will be a link to the list of Open Tasks.
    • Invitation-Only Tasks (Night of Prom Assignments and other Specialized Tasks which require an Interview) – Get called by one of our Team Leads regarding any of the Invitation-Only Tasks (this includes all Night of Prom (NOP) assignments). Anyone charged with a crime against children (unless fully cleared) or convicted of any Class B Misdemeanor or higher can not serve with minor children.
    • Financial Contribution – Make a Contribution in Lieu of Serving online from your prom account (the system assigns that “Task” to you and marks your service as Complete).

Additional Assistance

You can see all tasks assigned to your family from your Family Dashboard at the txchp.com website.

By the end of March, everyone should be assigned to a Family Service task. If, for any reason, you are still needing to be assigned to a task at this point, please email promparents@txchp.com. If you need to further discuss your preferences or need assistance with the assignment process, we are available to help.

Extenuating Circumstances

If you believe your family has an extenuating circumstance that would preclude your family from being able to serve this year, please email exemptions@txchp.com. A TxCHP representative will be in touch to discuss options.
